I have had an interest in the biomechanics of the human body from a young age. Growing up in Sydney, I experienced my fair share of sporting injuries and spent a lot of time being treated by manual therapists. Watching the way they worked sparked my interest in how the body functions and recovers, and I realised early on that Osteopathy was the path I wanted to follow.
I graduated with a Master of Osteopathy from the University of Western Sydney in 2003 and moved to New Zealand in 2005.
Since settling in Dunedin and raising my family here, I have developed a particular interest in supporting women through pregnancy and post partum recovery, as well as treating babies in those early months of life. This period can be both exciting and challenging for families, and I enjoy helping mothers and babies navigate the physical changes that come with it.
I also have an interest in supporting women through their breast cancer journey, helping manage some of the physical challenges that can arise during treatment and recovery.
My osteopathic approach combines gentle, hands-on treatment with movement and strengthening strategies, as appropriate. I have undertaken additional professional development in Pilates and integrate this knowledge into my work. I also teach Pilates classes at Consultancy House Clinic.
I enjoy working with patients of all ages and helping people better understand their bodies and move more comfortably.
