A few decades ago, I went to my first acupuncture treatment as a last resort. I had been suffering from chronic pain, with no relief from medication or surgery. After that first session, I drove home with a huge smile on my face, in disbelief at how much better I felt.
Many years and adventures later, I completed a Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture from the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Since graduating, I moved to Dunedin to be closer to family, and have worked in private clinics in Central Dunedin and Palmerston, as well as running community acupuncture clinics in Waitati and Karitane.
I love treating a wide range of conditions and patients — and I have a particular soft spot for people who arrive at acupuncture as a last resort, just as I once did. I most often combine gentle Japanese needling techniques with auricular (ear) acupuncture, and I love to incorporate warming moxibustion for patients who tend to run cold.
Outside the clinic, you'll find me surfing, climbing, growing food, or playing music.
