When people ask where I am from, I tend to say “Otago”. Dunedin is as much my home as are the smaller rural areas I have lived in over my life. I grew up with the best of both worlds, spending my early years on rural farms and my teenage years at Queen's High School here in Dunedin.
I grew up playing a mix of sports on offer at school — touch, basketball, netball, skiing, and ice skating — but my passion and focus were mainly riding horses. I have competed in English disciplines through my early years, right through to regional eventing champs level, and in later years competed in the western discipline of Barrel Racing in Rodeo, both here and in the USA. More recently, I have welcomed two boys, Tate and Bryn, with my partner, Tyler, into our family, and the focus is on raising our young sons and spending time with our family exploring and enjoying everything the outdoors has to offer.
I enjoy treating people from all walks of life. Still, given my upbringing and my partner's passion for farming, I feel that I can really offer a unique understanding and perspective to our rural and farming clientele. Knowing the pressure and demands of farming on a day to day basis means that I am able to work with farmers and agricultural workers to help them get the most out of their bodies and look after themselves better. I also enjoy working with pregnant women, babies (right from birth), children, and all sorts of injuries. As a hobby, I also apply my skills to horses and dogs, when I have the time, assisting their owners with injury rehabilitation and improving performance.
